The TOP Trends You’ve Got to Try the Spring-Summer 2018
We are at the beginning of the spring season and we already think of what we will wear in Spring-Summer 2018. Since last September, fashion houses and designers presented the biggest trends and now we will follow them with our eyes closed.
Let’s have a look at the New York, Paris, Milan and London catwalks and see everything they suggest. Colors, particular patterns, airy lines and comfortable style are just a few of the elements that will fit into our new season style.
Painting Patterns
This season Andy Warhol, Picasso and Disney cartoons will have a strong presence on clothes. Prada, Versace and Comme des Garçons have designed clothes with pop art items, paintings and cartoons in black and white or bright colors. And here comes the well-known question: “Is fashion a true art form?” A response to this eternal question was given by Pierre Bergé, who stated that fashion is not art, but an artist needs to create it.
Sport Inspiration
The athleisure (or sporty) trend will be at the leading edge again. This trend is an urban chic look enriched with colors and is characterized by the oversized lines and its sophisticated gym style. Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Gucci and many celebrities are warm supporters of this trend.
Red is on fire
An intense color that captivates and creates a dynamic style. Red was a huge winter trend that managed to replace pink (the must color of the summer) and created a more sexy style. So, we will continue to wear it in spring and summer and definitely from … top to bottom. Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Comme des Garçons came out with this trend.
Creations made of plastic
The catwalks were filled with plastic clothes, bags and shoes, putting this waterproof texture very high on our wish list. It’s a cool and fresh idea that was first presented by Chanel, and then Balmain and Valentino. So, why don’t you purchase a plastic-waterproof overcoat? It’s a very good idea.
Butterflies and flowers
Besides floral, which is considered as a classic pattern, (not only for spring, but also for winter), an important fashion statement for this year are the prints with butterflies. Designers call it butterfly effect and in combination with floral, creates the ultimate spring break style for this season. You can combine these two patterns or wear them together in different looks. Ambassadors of this trend are Versace, Saint Laurent and Moschino.
Influences from tropical islands
Palm trees, banana leaves and 3D tropical figures gave a tropical rhythm on catwalks either with the classic style in the summer resort, or with the athleisure trend and surf influences. Jacquemus, Isabel Marant and Michael Kors “danced” in this tropical rhythm.
Denim everywhere
Undoubtedly, one of the leaders of the new trends is denim. It is present in the trends of every season, but each time with a different style. As strange as it may seem to you, the dark blue and the navy colors will join in the new season. We have seen it at Givenchy, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney catwalks.
Sheer feminine
Fendi, Helmut Lang and Dior are only a few designers who continued to impress with their transparent fabrics. It is not extremely sexy because the feminine spots were covered with lingerie and underwear. Spring time or summer breeze are appropriate seasons for such pieces.
